Venable is a former 7th round pick of the 2005 MLB Draft. He has spent pretty much his entire career with the San Diego Padres and did spent a little bit of time with the Texas Rangers.
Last year with both clubs Venable hit .244 with 13 doubles and 6 home runs. With the Dodgers needing some left depth in the outfield after cutting Carl Crawford Venable fills that void as a savvy veteran.
