Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register also reported the news.

Ryan was traded to the Angels earlier this month and has failed to record a hit. He has went 0-11 and with Cliff Pennington ready to return to the lineup Ryan hasn’t shown enough to keep him on the roster.
In his 11 at-bats he has struck out 6 times. The ten year veteran has spent time with the New York Yankees, Seattle Mariners, and St. Louis Cardinals.
