Tim Lincecum Contract Details

Former San Francisco Giants Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim last night. Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reported the deal was complete.
Lincecum passed physical, deal with angels complete.

Heyman added.
Lincecum’s $2.5M salary is pro-rated so it’ll wind up being close to $2M total plus the $1.7M incentives

He continued.
Lincecum’s extras include 500K roster bonus. He should hit all $1.7M in extras if he gets to angels by June 15 or so

For an Angels team that is struggling with rotational depth due to injuries it gives both parties what they are looking for. Lincecum believes he can still be an effective starting pitcher and the Angels will give him a chance to prove himself.
His former team was hesitant to offer Lincecum that role. They believed he was better suited as a bullpen relief pitcher at this point of his career.
