Jemile Weeks Could Need Surgery
- Updated: May 19, 2016
According to Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune San Diego Padres infielder Jemile Weeks may need surgery on his hamstring.
Jemile Weeks (right hamstring strain) isn’t progressing as he should. Considering getting a cortisone shot. Surgery could become an option.

Weeks was placed on the disabled list about a week and half ago and is not progressing as expected. Jose Pirela has been taking the reps at second base with weeks out.
Weeks is originally from Orlando, Florida and was a first round pick by the Oakland Athletics. He has spent a majority of his career in the minor leagues and has struggled this year in the majors.
If he does indeed need surgery he will have to work his way back into the lineup probably with a rehab assignment in EL Paso.
San Diego will take on the San Francisco Giants tonight at Petco Park.
