Thompson Lifts Dodgers Over Mets

Tracye Thompson hit a pinch hit home run in the ninth inning to lift the Los Angeles Dodgers over the New York Mets on Tuesday night.
Alex Wood got the start for the Dodgers. He pitched 6.1 innings allowing four hits and 2 runs only 1 of them were earned. He walked 2 batters and struck out 9 as he would be awarded a no decision.
Jacob deGrom pitched 7 innings allowing 8 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 4 batters and also was awarded a no decision.
Corey Seager hit a RBI double first inning to left field that brought in Chase Utley. Adrian Gonzalez followed with a sacrifice fly to left field. After the first inning the Dodgers led 2-0.
In the second inning Michael Conforto reached on a fielder’s choice that brought in Yoenis Cespedes. Kevin Plawecki followed with a RBI single to left field that brought in Conforto.
It would be the ninth inning when Thompson hit his fourth homerun of the year that gave the Dodgers 3-2 victory.
With the win the Los Angeles improved their record to 17-16 on the year. Los Angeles will take on the Mets tonight a 7:10 p.m. PST
