Jemile Weeks Lands On DL

According to Jeff Sanders of the San Diego Union Tribune San Diego Padres infielder Jemile Weeks will land on the disable listed due to a hamstring injury.
Green indicates a DL stint likely for Weeks. He was unsure of status but knew he had a hit in sites: “Smelled it. Tried to get there.”

Sanders reported further information on the move.

Weeks is a former first round pick of the pick of the Oakland Athletics in the 2008 MLB Draft. Weeks spent three years with the A’s before joining the Baltimore Orioles and Boston Red Sox, and now the Padres.
This season Weeks has played in 17 games and is hitting just .140 from the plate. San Diego will take on the Chicago Cubs tonight at Wrigley Field.
