According to Marc Stein of ESPN.com Los Angeles Lakers head coach Luke Walton contract is a 5-year deal worth $25 million dollars.

ESPN sources say Luke Walton lands a five-year deal with the Lakers (four years guaranteed) at $5-to-6 million annually including incentives

Mike Bresnahan of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.

Luke Walton’s contract to coach the Lakers will be for five years and about $25 million.

Walton is excited to be the 26th head coach in Los Angeles Laker history. He has spent the last two years as an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors on Steve Kerr‘s staff.

Laker nation is happy about the move. The former Lakers spent most of his career as a player for Los Angeles and has a strong relationship with Mitch Kupchak and other Lakers personnel.
