Anaheim Ducks Fired HC Bruce Boudreau

The Anaheim Ducks announced yesterday that they have relieved head coach, Bruce Boudreau, of his duties.

This news doesn’t come as a major surprise due to their disappointing exit in the first round of the NHL Playoffs. Again.

Their exit on Wednesday marked their fourth straight loss at home in a Game 7, on Bruce Boudreau’s watch. This doesn’t take into account, however, his expedited rise to 200 wins in franchise history and a .648 winning percentage. (The best coach to ever do it for the Anaheim Ducks) Not to mention the four Pacific Division Championships.

“I would like to thank Bruce for his hard work and dedication to the  franchise,” Murray said. “This was a very difficult decision to make. Bruce is a good coach and character person, and we wish him the best of luck in the future.”

GM Bob Murray‘s main concern was the struggle he faced in the playoffs. He capped his press conference with “I want playoff success.” And Bourdreau’s lack of wins was not going to cut it anymore.

Murray isn’t in a hurry to fill the vacancy.

What do you think Ducks fans? Was this a fair firing? Will you miss Bruce Boudreau?
