Dos Santos Nets Brace in Galaxy 4-1 Win
- Updated: April 15, 2016
The LA Galaxy came to Houston Friday evening to take on the Dynamo hoping to get some rare points on the road. Entering the game with 8 points Los Angeles had a slight edge over Houston who only had 5 points through their first three matches.
Without Robbie Keane for the second straight match the Galaxy would have to find out how to create an attack. Also the Galaxy would be missing defensive midfielder Nigel De Jong as it was announced today he will be suspended for three games after his rough tackle on the Portland Timbers Darlington Nagbe.

Things did not start out all that well for the Galaxy in this one. Just two minutes in, the defense got lost on a corner and things quickly looked troubling for Los Angeles as Houston’s David Horst headed one home giving his side the quick 1-0 lead.
It didn’t take long for the Galaxy to recover though,

Dos Santos finally knocks in his first this season for Los Angeles in what was certainly a much needed goal by the 26 year-old Mexican. From this point on momentum was very much so on the side of the Galaxy.
The score did not stay drawn for long as a deflection off the keeper from a Dos Santos shot fell right to the feet of Galaxy Midfielder Baggio Husidic who put it into the back of the net for a goal.
The Galaxy were now up 2-1 and things didn’t get any easier for the home side as only ten minutes later Dos Santos struck again off a fantastic pass from Steven Gerrard.

Gerrard and Dos Santos connected very well in this one as the two seem to have some great chemistry going. Gerrard looked on his game all night tonight in what has been one of his few strong performances since joining Los Angeles last season. If Stevie can keep up this type of play, the Galaxy attack is going to improve tremendously going forward as he created plenty of chances for his teammates in this one.
Speaking of creating chances, Sebastian Lletget was doing some of that himself. His energy early on was something this Galaxy squad had been missing so far this season in their attack and it was felt immediately Friday night as he was able to cross one in perfectly to Gyasi Zardes in the 50th minute for a fourth Los Angeles goal. 4-1 Galaxy now and the game was all LA.
Emmanuel Boateng and Dave Romney would check in later on in the game for Mike Magee and Jelle Van Damme respectively but little more could be done to improve the Galaxy lead.
This game would finish off 4-1 in a great away win for Los Angeles. No doubt the man of the match tonight was Giovani Dos Santos but so many great performances from the club made this a great game to watch for Galaxy fans.
The next game for the Galaxy will be back at Stubhub Center in Carson Real Salt Lake comes to town on Saturday April 23rd. The game will take place at 7:30 PM PST and can be seen on MLS Live or TWCSN.
