Angels Sweep Oakland, With A 5-1 Win

@Alden_Gonzalez

Make it four straight wins for the Halo’s, after a 5-1 victory over the Oakland A’s, in the series finale. It’s early, but when you can get out of a tough place like Oakland, with a series sweep, take it!

This one was nothing to worry about. The Angels grabbed the lead and never looked back. Matt Shoemaker looked better in this start, from the first of the season. Shoemaker completed six innings, allowing only one hit, on 94 pitches and looking like Nolan Ryan on the hill for the Angels today.

The Angels offense was led by Kole Calhoun and Mike Trout, each contributing three hits. Also let’s mention the fact that Mike Trout, picked up his first stolen-base of the season, and Calhoun drove in two of the teams five runs.

The team looked better today in all the three phases of the game. Everything stood out today, great timely hitting, solid pitching by both the starter and the bullpen and rock solid defense, (despite the error by Cron), the team will pickup victories every time.

ANGELS DUGOUT:

With three hits today, Kole Calhoun is now the team leader in batting, with a .346 average in the early part of the season.

HALO’s ON DECK:

The Los Angeles Angels,(5-4), will now head for the Minneapolis, for a three-game weekend series with the Twins. Currently, the Angels are now a half game ahead of the Texas Rangers in the American League West. The pitching match-up for game one, Garrett Richards (0-2, 3.86 ERA), verses Tommy Milone (0-1, 3.86 ERA) for the Twins.
