Gibson Leads Ducks To 2-1 Victory

John Gibson made 27 saves last night to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. The win was Anaheim’s forty second of the year.
Corey Perry got the offense started in the first period with a slap shot goal. His goal was assisted by Jamie McGinn and Rickard Rakell and the Ducks led 1-0. Edmonton outshot Anaheim in the first period 10-9.
In the second period Brandon Pirri scored a slap shot goal. His goal went unassisted and Anaheim carried a 2-0 lead heading into the third period.
Nail Yakupov scored a snap shot goal in the third period for Edmonton. His goal was assisted by Taylor Hall and Leon Draisaitl and cut the lead to 2-1. Edmonton was unable to score another goal and the Anaheim took care of business and notched the 2-1 win.
Cam Talbot made 23 saves for a 92% save percentage. Anaheim will take on the Calgary Flames on Wednesday night at the Honda Center. Fans can get their tickets for that game here.
