Prospect Watch: Hunter Renfroe

@SD_PadresRR

The San Diego Padres second ranked prospect is non other than outfielder Hunter Renfroe. At age 23 Renfroe played in triple A for both El Paso and San Antonio minor league clubs.

Renfroe appeared in a combined 132 games in both clubs in the minor leagues last season. In 2015 he hit 20 home runs with (78) RBI’s to go with a batting average of (.271) on-base percentage of (.321) and a slugging percentage of (.462)

Thus far in 2016 spring training the second ranked prospect for the Padres has had (18) plate appearances and (16) at-bats. To go along with a BA, OBP, and SLG, of (.250/.278/.313) with (2) runs scored and 1 RBI.

Now at age 24 he has had the opportunity to see some major league pitching in spring training. This experience is great for the second ranked prospect as well as the evaluation process of the Padres coaching staff.

Renfroe has quite a lot of potential. With the Padres having quite a crowded outfield he will most likely start the season at triple A once again. If he is called up later on in the season fans could see his debut soon.
