Preview: LA Clippers vs. Memphis Grizzlies
- Updated: March 19, 2016
In what looks to be an early look at what we can expect from the first round of the Playoffs, the Los Angeles Clippers will take on the Memphis Grizzlies tonight on the road. The only difference (hopefully) will be who’s available for each side.
The Clippers will have the chance to close the gap on third place in the West tonight as well as getting their fourth win in the series.
They have learned to play without Blake Griffin, although the team is starting to show signs of needing him back. Players like J.J. Redick, DeAndre Jordan, and Chris Paul have all stepped up in his absence. Doc Rivers said the following (as per team website)
“Even before Blake left, we’ve become a grinding team. You’ve just got to hang in there … There’s no guarantee what lineup we’re going to have.”
The Memphis Grizzlies, on the other hand, are holding on to fifth place quite comfortably. The injuries they have sustained…and the bizarre move my Matt Barnes vs. Milwaukee’s John Henson, may change that placement soon.
This game looks to reunite former-Clipper, Lance Stephenson, who has filled into his team quite nicely. (Averaging 3.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game in his last four games.)
According to coach Dave Joerger, Zack Randolph will be a game-time decision. He has missed the past seven with a sore knee. Bench-man Vince Carter could also return after sitting out the last four due to a strained calf injury.
Watch the game at 5:00 pm PST on NBA League Pass.
