Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times also reported the news.
3B David Freese with, what I assume will be, a chip on his shoulder seems like a really good late pick-up by #Pirates.

Fresse is a former 9th round pick of the 2006 MLB Draft to the San Diego Padres. He spent five years with the St. Louis Cardinals before joining the Halos for two years.
Last season with the Halos he hit .257 with 14 home runs and 56 RBI’s. He played in 121 games and will look to provide some veteran depth for the Pirates this season.
