Anaheim Ducks Continue Winning Ways

The Anaheim Ducks continued their winning ways with a victory over the Montreal Canadiens in a shootout victory on Wednesday. Anaheim made a flurry of moves at the trade deadline and they came up big.

In the first period there were no goals from either side. Montreal outshot Anaheim 12-7 and after one the score was 0-0.

In the second period Alex Galchenyuk scored a slap shot goal for his 18th goal of the season. His goal was assisted by Andrei Markov and Lars Eller.

Later on in the period newcomer Jamie McGinn scored his first goal as Duck. His goal was assisted by Hampus Lindholm and Josh Manson were credited with the assist. After the second period the score was tied at 1-1.

Early in the third period Galchenyuk scored a wrist shot goal at the beginning of the period. P.K. Subban and Alexei Emelin were credited with the assist and Montreal took a 2-1 advantage.

Corey Perry scored a tip-in shot later in the period. David Perron and Cam Fowler were credited with the assists and Anaheim  tied the game at 2-2.

Perry’s goal forced overtime and neither team was able to score. In the shootout Jakob Silfverberg scored a shootout goal that gave Anaheim the 3-2 victory.

John Gibson made 25 saves for a 92% save percentage. Mike Condon made 33 saves for 94% save percentage.

Anaheim will take on the Arizona Coyotes tonight at Gila River Arena.
