Clippers Continue Road Trip At MSG

@NBAcom

The Los Angeles Clippers will continue their road trip when they take on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Friday night.

Los Angeles is coming off a loss to Kevin Love and the Cleveland Cavaliers last night. The Knicks are in the thick of the Eastern Conference playoff race as they sit at .500 with a 22-22 record. The Clippers come into this game with a 27-15 clip.

Carmelo Anthony was named an Eastern Conference starter for the All-Star game last night. He also passed Larry Bird on the all-time scoring list earlier in the week.

For the Clippers they were busy at work this morning. They traded Josh Smith back to the Houston Rockets have Doc Rivers acknowledged that he wasn’t the best fit with the club.

New York is led by Anthony, Arron Afflalo and rookie Kristaps Porzingis. Anthony is averaging 21.7 points per game and grabbing 7.6 rebounds a night.

Afflalo is the second option averaging 14.2 points a night. Porzingis is having a great rookie season and is in fourth in the league in jersey sales. He is averaging 14 points and 8 rebounds a game.

Look for Chris Paul to continue his strong play tonight. Jose Calderon will have a tough task of trying to slow down Paul who is playing some of his best basketball of the season.
