Lakers Can’t Hang In Utah

The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t hang with the Utah Jazz on Saturday night and the fell 109-82. This game came on the heels of Kobe Bryant announcing that he would take his name out of consideration for a spot in the U.S. Olympic team in Rio.

For Los Angeles Lou Williams led the way in scoring with 20 points. Jordan Clarkson also reached double figures with 10 points. D’Angelo Russell also reached double figures with 13 off the bench.

Rudy Gobert was a big factor in last night’s contest. He a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Trey Lyles also chipped in 17 points, and Gordon Hayward added 14.

Rodney Hood chipped in 14 and Trey Burke added 16 off the bench. Joe Ingles also added 10 off the bench as the Jazz were led with a balanced attack.

Los Angeles struggled from the field connecting on just 34% of their shots. Utah shot almost 50% from the field and 50% from three point land.

Larry Nance Jr. left the game with knee soreness and did not return the game. He probably will not play tonight against the Houston Rockets.

With the loss Los Angeles falls to 9-33 on the season. They take on Rockets tonight.
