In his final game in Oakland, Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Golden State Warriors,116-98.
There was a brief chat between Kobe Bryant and Stephen Curry, probably something about the old making way for the new? Maybe the conversation was on the lines of “passing of the torch,” which could be something we will see the rest of this season, when Bryant gets closer to the end of his career.
As for the game between the Lakers and Warriors, this was interesting early, but the Warriors scored 64 points in the second half, to pull away in the end for the victory. This time, Curry was the culprit, as he scored 26 points to lead the Warriors. Bryant only scored 8 points in this game, with one more game left in his career against the Warriors, Bryant has averaged over 27 points per game, which is tied for the highest average against any opponent.
The youth movement for the Lakers has been working, somewhat. Several times in this game, The Lakers were seen with all the youngsters on the floor. Jordan Clarkson, benefited greatly with the most time on the court for the team, scoring 22 points in 36 minutes of work. Lou Williams continued to have another great game, scoring 21 points, not great from the field, but once again, very accurate from the free-throw line, making 10 of 11 attempts.
The Lakers bench received solid performances from D’Angelo Russell and Julius Randle. Both scored 14 points, in 30 minutes, while Randle just missed a double-double, grabbing 9 rebounds. Tarik Black sighting, the big fellow showed up and scored 6 points in 16 minutes. Among the missing were Nick Young, Metta World Peace and Marcelo Huertas, for reason unknown.
