Halos Avoid Arbitration With Hector Santiago

@AnaheimSports1

According to Jon Heyman of the MLB Network the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have reached an agreement with All-star pitcher Hector Santiago to avoid arbitration.

Alex Curry of FOX Sports tweeted her thoughts on the deal.

The Angels confirmed the news on their official Twitter account.

Santiago is a former 30th round selection of the Chicago White Sox back in the 2006 MLB Draft. He spent three years with the White Sox before the joining the Angels.

He has spent the last two years in the Los Angeles where he was named an All-Star for the first time in his career last season.

Last season he posted a 9-9 record with a 3.59 ERA. He threw 180+ innings and struck out 162 batters. It’s good to see the Halos lock him up for next season and his contract is flexible enough that you might see him in  a trade later on.
