Lakers Comeback Falls Short Lose 118-115

The Los Angeles Lakers rallied back from a 27 point deficit but couldn’t complete the rally when they fell 118-115 on Thursday night. With the loss the Lakers record now stands at 8-29.
Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers with 28 points, but the real story was D’Angelo Russell. Russell scored 27 points in 29 minutes off the bench and lead the Lakers rally in the fourth.
He gave Laker fans what they wanted out of the number two pick knocking down long range bombs to bring the Lakers back. He sprained his ankle late in the fourth quarter and was unable to return to the game. Last night was a career high for the rookie.
Lou Williams also had a strong game chipping in 20 points. Jordan Clarkson added 15, and Brandon Bass reached double figures off the bench as well with 10.
For Sacramento DeMarcus Cousins continued his strong play with a near triple-double. He had 29 points, 7 assists, and 10 rebounds to lead the way.
Quincy Acy continued his strong play of late scoring 18 with Rudy Gay scoring 18 as well. Ben McLemore scored 16 and Rajon Rondo was just shy of a double-double with 9 points, 12 assists and 6 rebounds.
Kosta Koufos reached double figures off the bench with 14 points. Marco Belinelli added 11 off the bench as well. Bryant also reached the 33,000 point club last night as well.
Los Angeles will try to bounce back tonight when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder at home on ESPN.
