Los Angeles Kings Extend Jake Muzzin

According to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Los Angeles Kings and Jake Muzzin have agreed to a five-year, $20 million dollar contract extension.

The Stanley Cup Champions made it a point to keep Jake Muzzin on the team long-term early this afternoon. The 25-year-old defenseman plays extremely well with Drew Doughty and the pair will be able to stay together.
Muzzin’s deal will keep him in a Kings jersey through the 2019-2020 season. Jake Muzzin has been part of the Kings organization since 2010. He signed as a free agent and has established himself as a solid defenseman during the last two years.
Muzzin was an integral part of the Kings Championship run last season. He totaled 12 points in the playoffs to help the Kings win the Cup.
His six goals in the playoffs led all defenseman.Muzzin has not played this season yet as he is dealing with a upper-body injury. Once he returns to the nice he will be paired with Drew Doughty and will be able to produce on both ends of the ice.
