RECAP: Warriors Beat Lakers,109-88
- Updated: January 6, 2016
Even with an aggravated left shin, Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors were still able to pick another win, as they beat the Lakers, 109-88. Curry only played 26 minutes and still had 17 points, 6 assist and 3 steals.
This game was basically the “Klay Thompson Show,” this was simply one of the best performances of the season, against our Lakers, this season. Thompson scored 36 points on just 34 minutes played, perfect from the free-throw line with six, and 50% from deep.
The Lakers had several problems in this matchup with the Champs, Kobe Bryant, missed his fourth straight game due to injuries. The team needed a spark and they received a giant shot-in-the-arm from Jordan Clarkson. Clarkson scored 23 points to lead the squad in points. Lou Williams had a very unusual game. Williams only scored 10 points but all from the free-throw line, a perfect 10 for 10, but he struggled from the floor, going 0 for 7.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS FOR THE LAKERS:
One a good note, the Lakers were absolutely outstanding from the free-throw line, 25 of 30, which is good against some teams but this game was against the Champs. The Lakers just need at least a few good things to go their way to beat the Warriors, which they just did not have in this one.
NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:
The Lakers,(8-28), are heading north to the state capitol of Sacramento, to take on the Kings. The Kings are coming of a very close one-point loss to the Dallas Mavericks. Los Angeles will try to get back to on track and try to start another winning streak. The three game winning streak was the longest of the season. Los Angeles is still in the NBA’s Pacific Division’s cellar, 25 games behind Golden State.
