Ducks Fall In Shootout 2-1

The Anaheim Ducks looked to improve on their win streak on Friday night but were unable to notch a victory against the Vancouver Canucks. All is not bad however as they Ducks did walk out of the last night’s game with one point.
The first period saw no goals from either side. Anaheim did hold a 9-6 shot advantage in the period but it did not result in anything on the scoreboard.
In the second period Ryan Kesler got Anaheim on the board. He scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Chris Stewart and Mike Santorelli. Anaheim and Vancouver were even on shots 9-9, and after two periods the Ducks led 1-0.
The third and final period was won by the Canucks. Chris Tanev scored a wrist shot goal that was assisted by Alex Burrows and Linden Vey. This goal tied the game at 1-1 and forced overtime.
3 on 3 hockey resulted in no goals and we were forced to go a shootout. It was Burrows who scored the game winner and the Ducks fell 2-1.
Frederik Andersen was in net for Anaheim. He made 24 saves, allowing 1 goal for a 96% save percentage. Jacob Markstrom made 27 saves allowing 1 goal for a 96% save percentage.
