BREAKING: Dodgers Sign LHP Scott Kazmir to 3 Year Deal

 

To make room on the 40 man roster, they designated outfielder Daniel Fields for assignment

Kazmir is now with the 7th organization of his career after being drafted with the 15th pick in the 2002 draft by the New York Mets.

He was a key piece in the trade with the Rays for Victor Zambrano, then traded to the Angels in 2009, signed as a free agent for one season with the Indians for one season in 2012, signed with the Athletics in 2013, and then traded by the Athletics to the Houston Astros this last season before being granted free agency and now signing with the Dodgers.

The full terms of the contract have yet to be disclosed but it is believed to be 3 year for a total of $48 million and a one year opt out.
