It’s good to be the Kings.
Even with 4 losses in their last 5 games, the Kings still currently have a 6 point lead in the Pacific Division with a game in hand on the 2nd place Sharks and three games in hand on the 3rd place Canucks, and it’s not even Christmas yet. With 3/5 of the season still to play, this is a healthy lead. If the current pace were to hold, they’d win the division by more than 20 points. This is the same division where last year, the fifth place Sharks finished within 20 points of the first place Ducks. So what gives? Are the Kings this good? Are they just really lucky? Or is the rest of the division just this bad?
