Los Angeles Clippers Take On Detroit Pistons
- Updated: December 14, 2015
The Los Angeles Clippers will travel to Detroit to take on the Pistons on Monday night. Los Angeles is coming off a gritty win over the the Brooklyn Nets over the weekend.
Detroit is led by head coach Stan Van Gundy who also takes over some of the basketball operations work. He has constructed his team very similar to the team he had during his days of coaching the Orlando Magic.
Andre Drummond his a dominant rebounder and anchor in the middle, very similar to the young Dwight Howard. Ersan Ilyasova is a european stretch four that is similar to Hedo Turkoglu.
Jodie Meeks is a floor spacer like J.J. Redick once was for Orlando. They also have Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who provides perimeter defense and can attack the rim.
Reggie Jackson was brought over in a trade at midseason last year for Detroit. After backing up Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City he is finding his way in his new role as a team leader.
DeAndre Jordan will have his hands full as many are calling Drummond one of the best centers in the league. Blake Griffin should have his way with the smaller Ilyasova.
It should be a good battle for Chris Paul. Jackson thrives in the underdog situation and has extreme confidence in himself.
