Chargers Fall To Chiefs 10-3

The San Diego Chargers fell to 3-10 on the year losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 10-3 this afternoon. Kansas City who is known for their tight defense held San Diego to 3 points for the season time this season.
Kansas City scored all of their points in the second quarter. Alex Smith connected with Albert Wilson for a 44 yard touchdown. The touchdown gave the Chiefs a 7-0 lead.
Cairo Santos hit a 40 yard field goal at the end of the second quarter. This pushed the lead to 10-0 heading into halftime.
Josh Lambo got the Chargers on the board in the third quarter. He hit a 30 yard field goal that was the only points of the day for the Bolts.
Phillip Rivers connected on 24 of his 43 pass attempts for 263 yards. He did throw one interception. Melvin Gordon continued to struggle with the run game. He rushed for 35 yards on 14 attempts.
Antonio Gates caught 6 passes for 76 yards. Jahleel Addae lead the way with 7 tackles. Jason Verrett also had 7 tackles but also had a interception.
Kansas City was very effective on third down. They converted on 6 of their 11 third down chances. The Chiefs also had 150 rushing yards compared the Bolts 44.
San Diego will take on the Miami Dolphins next Sunday as they look for their fourth win of the season.
