Dodgers Focus On Johnny Cueto

@mlbtraderumors

According to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports the Los Angeles Dodgers have turned their efforts to Johnny Cueto.

After the Dodgers lost out on Zack Greinke to the Arizona Diamondbacks they turned their efforts to the bullpen. News broke during the winter meetings that the Dodgers and Cincinnati Reds had a deal in place to land Aroldis Chapman.

Dodger Nation was excited by the news as they would have two of the best closers in the game on the same team. Then news broke that Chapman was involved in a domestic violence case and the Dodgers backed out of that deal.

The Dodgers then reached out to the New York Yankees trying to acquire Andrew Miller. Those talks didn’t last long so the Dodgers are back to square one trying to improve their pitching.

Buster Olney of ESPN.com reported the Diamondbacks offer to Cueto last week.

In order to get Cueto you have to assume that the Dodgers will to offer something a little north of that. Cueto would be a good acquisition and the Dodgers flirted with the idea of acquiring him during the trade deadline of last season.
