Clippers Looking To Deal Lance Stephenson, Josh Smith?

According to Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports, the Los Angeles Clippers have gauged trade interest in Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith.

Stephenson and Smith were both acquired this summer. Stephenson was involved in the trade with the Charlotte Hornets, while Smith signed as a free agent.

Stephenson has not been anywhere near the player he was in Indiana after leaving for Charlotte. The Clippers are off to a slow start and it looks as if head coach Doc Rivers is pointing the blame on the two newcomers.

Stephenson is averaging just 5.3 points per game this season and is not the upgrade at the wing the club was hoping for.

For Smith he is averaging a career low 5.5 points per game. He was also involved in a shouting altercation with a coach earlier this year.

Both players are coming off the bench this year so the numbers are expected to be down but I think there is a chemistry issue in the locker room.

At this time I am not sure what the value of these players may be on the trade market.  Most teams may wait for this situation to explode and pick them up off of waivers.

The Clippers are currently playing better basketball but nowhere near the championship aspirations they desire. As more information surfaces on the Clippers and their trade rumors we will keep you up to date.

What do you think Clippers’ fans? Is Lance Stephenson the problem, or is it Josh Smith? Or both?
