Clippers Take The ‘W’ Over Pelicans 120-100
- Updated: December 6, 2014
The Los Angeles Clippers brought home another win tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans. The final buzzer hit and the game ended 120-100.
Blake Griffin led the game with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. He also took his point totals over the 7,000 mark! But that wasn’t the only record broken. With the help of JJ Redick, the Clippers the Clippers made a season-high 17 3-pointers. And, the 76 year-old famed announcer, Ralph Lawler, missed the game for the first timer due to a medical procedure. We hope this one isn’t a lasting occurrence.
The regular Clippers got hot. JJ came up clutch with 21 points, 13 of which he scored in the first quarter. Jamal Crawford was responsible for 20, Chris Paul added more with 18 points and 16 assists, and DeAndre Jordan took control of 18 rebounds for Los Angeles.
As for the New Orleans Pelicans, Anthony Davis had another big game. He notched up 26 points while co-star Ryan Anderson hit 16 points off of the bench.
ESPN.com said this about the play-by-play:
“The Clippers led by 18 early in the second quarter only to watch the Pelicans tie it at 54-all at halftime. New Orleans shot 74 percent and made 5 of 6 3-pointers in the quarter, when Anderson led the way with 12 points. Babbitt hit a 3-pointer for the tie with 28 seconds left.
Griffin’s layup late in the second gave him 7,001 points, making the four-year veteran the second-quickest in franchise history behind Bob McAdoo to reach that mark.”
