Anaheim Ducks Blank Sharks 1-0

The Anaheim Ducks shutout the San Jose Sharks on Friday night 1-0. After losing a close one to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night Anaheim was able to respond in a positive way.
The first period very even. No goals were scored but both teams had 10 shots on goal. San Jose outshot the Ducks in the second period 11-6.
In the third and final period when it mattered the most the Ducks took over. They had 10 shots on goal to San Jose’s 2.
Mike Santorelli scored a slap shot goal that was assisted by Nate Thompson and Chris Stewart to give the Ducks the lead and the win.
John Gibson was excellent in goal. He recorded 23 saves and a shutout. Martin Jones was also good in goal for the Sharks. He made 25 saves and had a 96% save ratio.
Anaheim will take on the Pittsburgh Penguins tomorrow night t 5:00 p.m. It will be the second night of a back for the Penguins as they take on the Los Angeles Kings tonight.
