Chargers Snap Losing Streak Beat Jaguars 31-25

The San Diego Chargers were able to snap their six game losing streak as they beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-25. A big second quarter was the difference in the game.

It was the Jaguars who got on the board first with a Jason Meyers field goal. He was the sole source of the offensive with a pair of field goals from 22 and 51 yards out.

In the second quarter Philip Rivers got the Chargers on the board. He threw a 2 yard touchdown pass to Dontrelle Inman. This gave the Chargers a 7-6 lead.

Myers followed with a 27 yard field goal to give the Jags a 9-7 lead. The Chargers followed back with back to touchdown passes from Rivers to Antonio Gates for 9 yards and 12 yards. San Diego lead 21-9 at halftime.

Myers was at it again in the 3rd quarter. He connected on yet another field goal from 28 yards out to cut the Bolts lead to 21-12.

Josh Lambo answered back with a 28 yard field goal of his own and the Bolts held a 24-12 lead at the end of the third.

Blake Bortles connected on a touchdown pass to Julius Thomas for a 21 yard touchdown that cut the lead to 24-19. Rivers connected with Steve Johnson for his 4th touchdown pass of the night to push the lead to 31-19.

Bortles linked up with Allen Robinson to trim the lead to 31-25 but they couldn’t make the full comeback and the Chargers won 31-25.

Rivers ended the night with 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. Melvin Gordon had 14 carries for 60 yards. Johnson lead the way 7 catches for 92 yards a touchdown.

On defense Denzel Perryman had 6 tackles, while Manti Te’o had an interception.

San Diego will take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday at 11 a.m. PST
