Pennington is a former first round pick of the Oakland Athletics in the 2005 MLB Draft. He spent 5 years with the A’s before joining the Arizona Diamondbacks for the 3 years, and the Toronto Blue Jays for the last part of the last season.
Last season Pennington had his worst year behind the plate but his versatility will prove to be dividends for the Angels.
The Angels have been busy so far this offseason with the Andrelton Simmons trade and now the Pennington signing.
