Padres Name Alan Zinter Hitting Coach

According to Corey Brock of MLB.com the San Diego Padres have named Alan Zinter their new hitting coach.

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune also reported the news.
Alan Zinter was a hitting coach in the D-backs’ minor league system from 2008-11. Hired by AJ Hinch.

Zinter was a former first round pick of the New York Mets in the 1989 MLB Draft. He spent a majority of his career in the minor leagues. He did play for the Houston Astros and the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Brock reported some facts on Zinter’s playing career.
What a great story Alan Zinter is: 1st rounder in 1989, kicked around Minors (some in Japan) for 14 years before stint with Astros in 2002.
