@beisbol3bases

According to Corey Brock of MLB.com the San Diego Padres have named Alan Zinter their new hitting coach.

Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune also reported the news.

Zinter was a former first round pick of the New York Mets in the 1989 MLB Draft. He spent a majority of his career in the minor leagues. He did play for the Houston Astros and the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Brock reported some facts on Zinter’s playing career.

Zinter was the assistant hitting coach with the Astros last year during their resurgence. He will provide some excellent knowledge to the Padres and their hitters.  Congratulations Alan Zinter!
