RECAP: Lakers 97, Pistons 85

@Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers put together a complete game with all players on board, to defeat the Detroit Pistons last night, 97-85.

Kobe Bryant, after a few days of rest, helped pace the team to the victory. Bryant’s 17 points, 9 assist and 8 rebounds was just what the team needed to break out of a four-game skid. Jordan Clarkson added 17 points 6 rebounds and dished out 3 assist.

Nick Young was the leader off the Lakers bench, in last night’s win. Young scored 13 points, 4 of 6 from the field and was perfect from both the 3-point and the free-throw stripes.

Despite a solid game from Pistons Center Andre Drummond,(17 points and 17 rebounds) which also included a statement dunk over Nick Young and a good bench play from Spencer Dinwiddie, the Pistons had opportunities to put away the Lakers but failed to do so.

INSIDE SOME OF THE NUMBERS:

Larry Nance Jr. has been contributing in a great way, 17 minutes in this game, 6 points and 4 rebounds. One very surprising stat, The Lakers won this game even though the team turned the ball over more times than the Pistons, 16-10.

NEXT UP FOR THE LAKERS:

The team will travel to Phoenix to face the Suns. Kobe Bryant will not play in this game, after the brilliant performance and the 36 minutes played, he will sit out of this one. Phoenix,(5-4) come into this game, winners of two straight games with very nice wins over the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers.
The Lakers,(2-8) with the win, are still in the NBA’s Pacific Division basement, 8.5 games behind the Golden State Warriors.
