Mark Saxon of ESPN.com reported yesterday that Erstad was among one of the finalist for the job.
Darin Erstad stands out among the finalists, but Andrew Friedman heard great things over the years, not only from Joe Maddon

Erstad was considered a strong candidate for the job but has withdrawn and now will focus his attention back to the University of Nebraska.
With Erstad backing out it leaves Bud Black, Dave Roberts, and Gabe Kapler as the final candidates for the job. The search should be over I assume sometime next week.
