Mariners Interested In Chris Iannetta?

@PierzynskiNews

According to Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune, the Seattle Mariners are close to signing former Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim catcher Chris Iannetta.

Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reported that Iannetta has yet to recieve a offer.

Iannetta is a former 4th round pick of the Colorado Rockies back in 2004. He spent six years with the Rockies before joining the Halos for the last 4 years.

He has served as the primary backup catcher for the club last season and struggled. He appeared in 92 games and hit just .188. He did have a OBP of .293 but the struggle was real for the catcher.

If he goes to Seattle he will have a reunion with Jerry Dipoto and Scott Servais who were apart of the Angels last season.

As more information surfaces about the Halos and their offseason moves we will keep you up to date.
