Zack Greinke Opts Out Of Contract
- Updated: November 5, 2015
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke has officially opted out of his contract with the club.
Zack Greinke has officially opted out of his contract, but it would be a shocker if he doesn’t return to #Dodgers, unless #SFGiants swoop in.

This comes as no surprise as experts and reporters around the league saw this coming and for good reason. Greinke has a great chance to win the NL Cy Young and will look to cash in his chips now.
Greinke should receive a record fee whether it’s from the Dodgers or not. The Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, and San Francisco Giants are a few of the teams that will surely make a run at the star.
Greinke had an excellent year last year posting a 19-3 record with a 1.66 ERA. He did reach the 200 strikeout mark, and the 200+ inning mark.
There are plenty of great arms available on the free agent market. David Price and Jordan Zimmermann will demand high fees alongside with Greinke.
As of now I expect Greinke to be back with the Dodgers next season. Let’s hope that comes true so that the Dodgers can make a deep playoff run.
