NBA Season Is Finally Back

The NBA season is finally back and I can’t be more excited. Throughout my life there has been fewer things more exciting than watching NBA basketball. I remember being young and watching the Lakers being eliminated by the San Antonio Spurs in what would be the final game in the Great Western Forum. I cried my eyes out as if I actually was the one on the floor getting embarrassed.

I tell that story because here we are years later and I find myself loving the game even more now than I did back then. I got a chance to play college basketball four years and made some of the bes friends I could ever ask for. Now that my playing days are our I spend way too much time reading or watching this beautiful sport.

In the last few weeks I read Dean Oliver‘s Basketball On Paper book that discussed in depth analytics and has helped me thinking about the game much differently.

As always I will be watching the Lakers ever so closely but I am interested in a few other teams. We all know that Chris Paul should be a Laker but the Clippers should be a legitimate title threat. I want to see if they can turn the corner and make to the Western Conference Finals or deeper.

The defending champs are feeling real confident and rightfully so. Stephen Curry just poured in 53 points over the weekend, no problem. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are letting it be known that they’re no afraid of the Clippers, but I have a feeling that Doc Rivers may be able to pull something out of his hat.

For now I’m just happy that basketball is back, and Kobe Bryant please pass the ball.
