Chargers Host Raiders, Look To End Losing Streak

The San Diego Chargers will play host to the Oakland Raiders this afternoon and look to avoid a three game losing streak when they take the field.

With so much speculation surrounding both teams you have to mention that they could be a sharing a stadium in the near future.

For the Chargers they come into today’s game banged up physically and emotionally. Two weeks they fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers on a last second play. Last week they were unable to score on the final play of the game against the Green Bay Packers as they lost back to back games,

Physically the club will be without safety Eric Weddle. He is dealing with a groin injury and will be forced to miss today’s game. As of this morning, Antonio Gates and Melvin Gordon are listed a questionable. Keenan Allen is expected to play after he missed some time in last week’s game.

Philip Rivers had a historic day last week. He broke franchise records with 43 completions and 503 passing yards. He has been one of the best quarterbacks in the game this year but it hasn’t resulted in wins on the field.

The Chargers will need more out of their running game. Gordon who was their first round pick struggled in the game versus the Packers and was eventually benched after suffering two fumbles.

The Chargers will need to protect the ball better if they want t end their losing streak today. Let’s right the ship and get back in the win column.
