Jonathan Quick’s Shutout Lifts Kings Over Bruins 2-0

Los Angeles Kings goalkeeper Jonathan Quick made 31 saves tonight as the Kings beat the Boston Bruins 2-0. Tonight was Quick’s 34th career shutout as they Kings bounced back from their 4-1 defeat against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday.

Tanner Pearson scored a goal in the first period which gave the Kings the 1-0 lead. Tyler Toffoli added a goal in the final minute of the game to give the Kings the 2-0 victory.

Tonight’s win is the King’s NHL leading 11th win at home this season. The defending Stanley Cup Champs continue to take care of business at home. While the Kings strive on the defensive end the Bruins continue to struggle on the offensive.

Bruins goalkeeper Niklas Svedberg made 33 saves tonight, but the Bruins were unable to find the net. The Bruins have scored just 6 goals in their last 5 games.

For the Kings Marian Gaborik did not play tonight. He missed his second straight game due to upper body injury according to the Los Angeles Times.

The Kings will look to build off of this win as they take on the Arizona Coyotes in Arizona on Thursday night.
