Lakers Waive Jonathan Holmes

According to Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles Lakers have waived forward Jonathan Holmes.

Mike Trudell of the Lakers also reported the news.
The Lakers waived Jonathan Holmes, leaving one final cut to be made before the season opener.

Baxter Holmes of ESPN.com confirmed the news.
Lakers waive forward Jonathan Holmes. Their roster stands at 16. (The regular-season max is 15, and they need to get there by Oct. 28.)

Holmes played in college ball at the University of Texas. He saw limited minutes with the Lakers and was bound to get cut eventually.
It will be interesting to see if the Lakers invite Holmes to the Defenders squad so that he can develop.
