The news of the potential opt out was expected since the beginning of the year. Greinke was dominate this season posting a 19-3 record with a 1.66 ERA.
At this point Greinke is expected to be back with the Dodgers next season. The Dodgers have the money to pay him and it wouldn’t make sense not to give him the money he deserves.
The Dodgers fell 3-2 in game 5 of the NLDS to the Mets last night and this Greinke news is only one of the many headlines heading into this offseason.
Dodgers manager Don Mattingly is also taking a lot of heat. It will be interesting to see if he has seen his last days on the Dodgers dugout.
