Cora spent 14 years in the majors. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1996 draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. He spent time with the Dodgers, Red Sox, Mets, Rangers, Nationals, and Indians.
Although Cora does not have any manager experience he has provided great analysis on ESPN. The Padres are looking for a replacement for Pat Murphy. He was dismissed after taking over for Bud Black earlier in the year.
