Clayton Kershaw Reaches 300 K’s, Dodgers Win 6-3

LOS ANGELES, CaClayton Kershaw recorded his 300th strikeout of the season and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Diego Padres 6-3.

Kershaw was working on a short pitch count as the Dodgers prepare for their playoff series against the New York Mets. He struck out 7 of the 13th batters he faced.

On the side Frank Garces got the start. He pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits and 2 runs. He struck out 2 and walked 2 as he was awarded his 1st loss of the season.

The Dodgers got on the board first in the second inning. Joc Pederson hit his 26th home run of season, a 2-run shot to right field.

Corey Seager added a solo shot to right in the 6th inning, and Chris Heisey added another of his own and the Dodgers held a 5-0 advantage.

Travis Jankowski hit a 3-run home run in the 7th inning that brought in Austin Hedges and Alexi Amarista. This cut the Dodgers lead to 5-3 but the Padres were unable to make the full comeback.

Ronald Torreyes hit a RBI single in the 8th inning and the Dodgers pushed the lead to 6-3.

Chris Hatcher came on in the 9th inning to shut the club don as he picked up his 4th save of the year.
