Colorado Get Past Dodgers, 7-4. Magic Number Now At 2

In the opening game between the Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Rockies take this one 7-4, delaying the chance for clinching the division title, for now.

Mike Bolsinger (L,6-5) had a fourth inning to forget, as Colorado pounded out three homers in the inning, to seal the win for Colorado. Corey Dickerson had a night to remember, as the outfielder went 3-for-4, adding three RBI’s and was a triple shy of the cycle.

Jimmy Rollins, who started at shortstop for Corey Seager, lead the Dodgers with three hits, which included his third triple of the season and scoring two of the teams four runs. Corey Seager was out of the lineup for the past two day, as he was resting his sore legs.

NEXT UP FOR THE DODGERS:

It was a minor bump in the road for the Dodgers (87-66), but the night was not all that bad, as the team will take on the Rockies (64-90), in game two of the series. The loss did not hurt the team. Our friends to the North, the Oakland Athletics did the Dodgers a big favor. The A’s held off the San Francisco Giants last night, sending them to their third straight loss and eliminating them from the National League Wild Card race. The Dodgers still has a very healthy eight lead, in the National League West, with nine games left in the season.

Brett Anderson (9-9, 3.52 ERA), will matched up against Kyle Kendrick (6-13,6.37 ERA), in game two, as the Dodgers will look to avoid a second straight loss.
