RECAP: Padres Lose To The Giants,10-3

In a very tough series against the San Francisco Giants, the San Diego Padres lose tonight’s game 10-3, including all three games of the series.
Giants starter Mike Leake,(W,10-8), pitched six strong innings and helped his own cause by hitting a homer off of Padres starter, Odisamer Despainge,(L,5-9).
The game started out really well for the Padres. Jed Gyorko grounded out to third, which scored Yangervis Solarte, to open up the scoring in the top of the first inning, for the Padres. Brett Wallace pushed the second run across in the inning, with a double to left, to score Justin Upton.
Rookie Travis Jankowski, hit his first career homer in the top of the second inning, to give San Diego a three-run cushion. The three-run lead disappeared in the bottom of the second inning, as the Giants managed to tie and take the lead back, leading to ten unanswered runs and the victory.
In this game, the Padres only managed five hits to go along with the three runs, as the team was out scored in the series, 27-4.
The team will now travel to Arizona, to start a series with the Diamondbacks, in a fight for third place in the National League West. San Diego,(67-77), with the loss are now ten games under .500 for the season and find themselves 16 full games behind the division leader, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
James Shields,(11-6, 3.09 ERA), will start game one of the three game series with Arizona. Jeremy Hellickson,(9-8, 4.60 ERA), will take the mound for the Diamondbacks, in the teams final road series, in Arizona.
