Dodgers Get Another Win Over Cincinnati, 7-4
- Updated: August 27, 2015
The Los Angeles Dodgers picked up another win in Cincinnati, as the team held on to a 7-4 win.
In one of the most bizarre plays ever seen on a baseball diamond, Kike Hernandez got a double, but the at bat wasn’t anything normal. Hernandez broke his bat, which flew out past Cincinnati’s Shortstop Eugenio Suarez, into left field, but the heads up hustle of Hernandez landed him on second base for the usual double.
Dodgers bats were alive and well again tonight. Scott Van Slyke, A.J. Ellis and Yasiel Puig all pounded homers off of Reds starter David Holmberg,(L,1-4), who was touched up for six runs and seven hits, including giving up three hits to Kike Hernandez. Brett Anderson,(W,8-8), had another strong performance, to even his record for the season. The bullpen looked very strong, as the Reds managed to get only produce one run, off of reliever Jim Johnson.
The Dodgers will go for the series sweep today, in a very early start time of 9:35 PST, at the Great American Ball Park, for the final time this season.
Zack Greinke,(13-3, 1.67 ERA), will take the mound in the finale, as the team goes for the 70th win of the season. He will be opposed by Anthony DeSclafani,(7-9, 3.97 ERA). Los Angeles,(69-56), still holds the top spot in the National League West, currently, 3 games up on the second place San Francisco Giants.
