Hollywood Blvd. News – Los Angeles Clippers Edition

Glen Davis

It seemed unlikely we would go a whole offseason without hearing some outrageously bold statement from one of our players! And thank you Glen Davis for making this gem for us to discuss on this lovely Friday morning.

Yesterday Big Baby Davis, of the Los Angeles Clippers, said something so stunning, we don’t know whether to be shocked or what.

He told CBS Sports Network’s Adam Schein that the Clippers could have taken the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. The quote is below:

“We would’ve beat Golden State, we would’ve beat Golden State,” Davis said. “And I think the reason why is because Blake Griffin — who’s going to guard Blake Griffin? You got these little 4s, range-shooting 4s; Blake’s 6-9, he’s a true power forward. And then also he can play around the perimeter. It’s hard to stop that when you’re playing smallball.”

CBSSports.com comes out of the gate swinging explaining why this is not a likely occurrence. Ill give you a sneak peak here:

3) The Clippers had basically no depth and looked exhausted by the end of their second-round series against the Rockets. Why would we assume they’d have anything left in the tank against the Warriors? Golden State plays a particularly tiring brand of basketball, and it is one of the deepest teams in the league.

5) Davis said his team fell apart against Houston because of “the lack of experience” in terms of advancing deep in the playoffs. If that was an issue then, it surely would have been a problem in the next round with the pressure rising.

Check out the CBSSports article and let us know what you think of Glen Davis. Is he being bold? Or could you see the Clippers taking on GSW?
