Following reports this week, it seems likely that the Los Angeles Lakers will sign Earl Clark to a one-year deal.

The Lakers are currently at the NBA-maximum 15 player limit and the opportunity to either waive Xavier Henry, after his season-ending injury, or wait for the NBA to grant them a hardship waiver which would increase their roster to 16. This waiver would not be granted until this weekend or next.

The issue would come, however, when one of the four players out with injuries, returns.

Earl Clark averaged 7.3 points in 9 games with the Lakers in 2012-13 season after being acquired from the Orlando Magic in the Dwight Howard trade. He then signed a two-year $8.5 million deal with Cleveland but was then traded to Philadelphia.

The Lakers would be bringing the 26 year old out of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, D-League team, where he has been averaging 28.8 points.
